All Brand Representatives must complete a W-9 tax form, as mandated by the government, for their tax filing. If you earn $600 or more within the calendar year, you will receive a 1099 tax form. Learn more about our process and policies below.
How the Process Works
To obtain a 1099 form, you first need to complete a W-9. We utilize Tax1099.com to handle all communication regarding tax information. Both the W-9 and the 1099 form will be sent by them.
The email you receive may appear like the one shown below.
ThirdChannel will dispatch 1099 forms by January 31st, 2025. All U.S.-based Brand Reps earning over $600 in 2024 will receive electronic 1099 forms from tax1099.com. Brand Reps residing outside the U.S. won't receive any tax forms from ThirdChannel.
If you haven't received your tax form by January 31st, 2025, check your email's junk/spam folder to ensure you haven't missed any communications.
REMEMBER: As a ThirdChannel Brand Rep, you are an independent contractor responsible for paying federal, state, and local taxes on the compensation paid to you. At the end of January following the year you worked (e.g., if you worked in 2024, you would receive a 1099 document in January 2025), ThirdChannel will issue a 1099 document for reporting to tax authorities. |
